Yala National Park is the jewel of Sri Lanka’s wildlife sanctuaries — a vast, dramatic landscape where dry-zone scrubland gives way to lagoons, rocky outcroppings, and a wild coastline where the Indian Ocean crashes against ancient stone. Block 1, the section this tour explores, holds the highest density of wild leopards of any protected area on Earth. But Yala’s story is far bigger than leopards.
